Heritage Gardens at Cold Spring, Jamaica

The delightful gardens here are tropical, lush and peaceful. The beautiful bromeliads, fruit trees and ferns blend in with the mountian side. Numerous trails take admirers throughout the old plantation. At one time over 400 species of ferns could be found on the estate.

The original owner, Matthew Wallen, brought over exotic plant species including apple and peach trees, strawberries, dandelion, bamboo and oriental plants. Many medicinal plants grow on the estate today.
